Members learn about livestock and agriculture topics with a focus primarily on on large meat animals – steers, hogs, and lambs. Some members are involved in raising and showing livestock at fairs. In 2018, at team of Livestock Club members participated in their first 4-H Poultry Judging and Avian Bowl contests. The club assist with projects associated with the Catawba Valley Cattlemen’s Association and Foothills Tractor Club. In 2019, youth will have the option to participate in a Dairy Steer Project with sign-up projected for January 2019.
The club meets the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Agricultural Resource Center.
