Thanks for all those Extension supporters who were part of the interview process for Extension Director position. We really value your interest and support in our work and staffing. I started in my role as the Extension Director for Catawba County on August 1. I look forward to learning more about the work of the staff and finding ways to support and strengthen our programming. I am a native of Catawba County. I grew up on a farm in the Sherrills Ford area, with our crops being primarily soybeans, wheat, and a BIG garden with summer vegetables. 4-H was a big and important part of my childhood and led me to a major in Family and Consumer Science and a career with Extension. I was a 10-year 4-H member and Honor Club member. I started my career with Extension in Macon County in western NC, but eventually returned home to Catawba County where I have been the 4-H Agent for the last 32 years. I now reside in the Startown area with my husband John and have 2 adult sons. I value family time and enjoy spending time in the kitchen, which is my happy place. As the Director, I will also be serving as the Family and Consumer Science Agent and doing programs on topics such as Food Preservation, Foods and Nutrition, Food Safety and other home/family topics. Feel to stop in and say "Hi" and lets talk about your connection or questions about Cooperative Extension.
