Small Farms Week Food Drive

— Written By Anelle Ammons

The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Catawba County Center in association with N.C. A&T State University will be hosting a food drive until March 30, 2019, in honor of our local farmers in conjunction with Small Farms Week (March 24-30).

All food collected through the food drive will be donated to the Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministries local food bank.

Anyone interested in donating to this food drive can bring items to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Catawba County Center office at 1175 S. Brady Ave, Newton, NC or to one of our upcoming programs. See our events calendar for program information.

Sponsored by The Cooperative Extension Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Small Farms Week pays tribute to the state’s small-scale growers.

The food drive this year acknowledges farmers’ contributions to the health and economy of North Carolina. It also recognizes the incidence of food insecurity in our counties, state, and nation, and underscores the outreach and impact of Cooperative Extension’s statewide and national network.sweet potatoesfield of flowershigh tunnel
