If you are a small grains farmer (wheat, oats, barley, triticale, rye) stop by the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Catawba County office on August 7 to vote on the following:

2019 Assessment Referendum Official Ballot 

Shall North Carolina growers of small grain (wheat ,rye, oats, barley, rape seed/canola and grain sorghum) continue to assess themselves an assessment of 1 of 1% on the gross dollar amount sales on all small grain produced on their farms for a six year period-collection of these funds to be collected by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and paid to the North Carolina Small Grain Growers Association for grower education, research, marketing, administration and enhancing small grain profitable for North Carolina Farmers? 

This continuing assessment request, authorized by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Board of Agriculture on August 7, 2019, will be effective January 1, 2020, only if Referendum is passed.
